Got back to the beach today after being laid up with a sore, sore back. Too much walking possibly. Hurricane Dennis had washed new sand in and taken some away in other places. Maybe the new sand is from all those beach refurbishing projects that we spend million$$$ on?

The red tide smell drifted by but there wasn't as much evidence of it in the way of dead fish today. News pictures yesterday showed other beaches paved with dead fish though. I'm hoping the hurricane has broken up the algae causing all the stench.

Sea shells were plentiful today. Berneida showed us a bag full of shells that included 4 tulips and one tiny live octopus. We tried to pick up the little octopus to put him back but he was clinging desparately to the plastic. We finally had to tear off the plastic that he was gripping in order to rescue him. Octopus and plastic both went back into the Gulf. Hope the plastic doesn't endanger someone else and it wasn't one life for another!
