The Tall Ships are supposed to be arriving this week. Seven of them. One is the Coast Guard's ship that will be offering free tours. But I don't want a tour - I want a trip. I've never been sailing before and I can only imagine how it feels to ride on one of those grand ships.
Kodak loves me. I took 27 exposures today of a manatee that swam by. Crazy. I've taken pictures before of manatees and they don't turn out well. I need a zoom lens possibly. Definitely, I need a digital camera. I could post pictures here on the blog so that you could see the toenails and the belly button. Oh, and the whiskers! This manatee was wearing a coat of algae with a couple of barnacle buttons. I didn't know they did that.

My audience of one has told me I haven't written since May 31st. But now I have incentive. And it amazes me that a small comment such as that has produced such incentive. Now I want MORE. Maybe I should add Keywords and a counter to this site. Ummmm . . .

Gardening has been the topic of the week. Easy Gardens for South Florida is a new book by Pamela Crawford that discusses what to plant in zones 10 and 11. Specifically she tells you what plants are minimum maintenance and provide good color. I've poured through the pages and learned so much. Driving down the road, I can better appreciate what she teaches. Some gardens look great and those are the ones that incorporate the plants recommended in the book. My garden has depended on annuals for its color but now I know what to look for at the garden shop for self propagating color. Hope it works.
